Al Gore,
the Greenie Weenies, and the media want you to believe that Ethanol,
made form corn or sugar is the best solution to our pollution and energy
problems.
Once
again, the Envirowackos
couldn't be MORE
wrong!
There are so
many problems with Ethanol it's
not funny.
While it can
be used as a fuel, it turns out there is NO
cost savings, energy savings, or environmental savings from it.
Producing
Ethanol uses
MORE energy
than
it creates!
It also creates
MORE
air pollution and environmental damage than oil does.
It is also
INCREASING starvation
all over the world.
That
is IMMORAL!

Ethanol:
The Political Fuel
|
|
| Ethanol
production is driving worldwide food prices sky high.
Corn is used in
thousands of food products and that will make the costs of almost every
food go up. It is estimated that 90% of Americans use a corn based product
everyday.
Corn is also used
as grain to feed chickens and cattle.
Think about it,
not only will it cost us Americans more for food, but it's going to cost
the poorest people of the world
more for food. That's nothing but cruel and IMMORAL!
Growing corn and
sugar for Ethanol has
become a big business.
The problem it
is costing us all a lot more money, and starving people all over the world.
Is it really worth
the cost?
Ethanol
and the Calculation Issue
|
|
Ethanol is
now causing MORE
starvation around the world with the poorest among us being the hardest
hit. Average Mexicans
will end up spending up to a third of their total income on tortillas a
main staple of food in Mexico. CLICK
HERE to read more about this.
In Mexico
the rising cost corn has driven up the cost of of tortillas that has caused
protests from thousands of people. CLICK
HERE to read the story.
The corn or sugar
used to make Ethanol also
takes a lot of fertilizer, and clean water to make it grow. As environmentalists
will tell you (true or not) the Earth is running dangerously low of fresh
water.
In fact they say
that it is Global Warming
itself that is depleting the worlds fresh water supplies.
But one of the
solutions they propose is using Ethanol which
needs massive amounts of water to produce. Their solutions are actually
contradicting themselves!
I
just love it when the Envirowackos
can't agree with each other!
It takes 450 pounds of
corn to produce the ethanol to fill only ONE
SUV tank.
That's enough corn to
feed one person for a YEAR! It's no wonder
why food prices are rising.
Plus, it takes more than
one gallon of fossil fuel -- oil and natural gas -- to produce one gallon
of ethanol. It also takes 1,800 gallons of water
to produce ONE gallon of ethanol!
Big
Corn and The Ethanol Hoax
Growing corn for
fuel is using a lot more water, driving water prices up, and causing more
water shortages around the world. In the August 2007 issue of the journal
Human Ecology,
it suggested that more WARS
may occur over the shortages of water, and the shortages and high prices
of food in the world.
They say that
historically this has been the case in the past.
Fertilizer costs
are also rising making EVERY
crop more expensive to grow. That leads to even higher food prices.
And the herbicides and pesticides necessary to grow corn at an industrial
scale leach toxins into the groundwater. Once again, it's the poorest
of the poor who are being affected by this the most.
Outside the U.S.,
rapidly growing demand for ethanol could worsen hunger in developing countries.
Using more corn
crops for fuel puts more pressure on supply and demand, raising the cost
of food.
Despite the huge,
taxpayer supported agricultural subsidies, the prices of corn — and tortillas
— have been climbing rapidly causing shortages in the poorest parts of
Mexico.
Greg Page,
president and chief operating officer of Cargill Inc., a leading ethanol
producer said;
"We as leaders
should be asking, "What prices are we prepared to make the world's poor
pay for food?".
The Envirowackos
don't REALLY
care about the worlds poor people starving to death. All they care
about is making a political statement about the imaginary effects of "Global
Warming" to make themselves feel like they
are doing something to help the Earth, when the TRUTH
is that they will be making problems worse.
Ethanol
Demands Could Raise Food Prices
I was in the supermarket
recently and there was a flyer placed over the milk aisle explaining why
milk prices were rising. The U.S, current prices are higher than
ever at $3.80 a gallon.
THAT'S
HIGHER THAN THE PRICE OF GASOLINE!
Where's the Congressional
investigation of the dairy farmers for high prices of milk?
How come they
aren't being investigated for "excessive profits"
like the oil industry is?
I recently paid
$7.00
for a gallon of orange juice. That's more
than DOUBLE than
the price of gasoline!
Because of the
cold temperatures (what happened to the warming?) much of this years orange
crop has been lost. Why isn't Hillary
Clinton investigating the orange growers "excessive
profits"?
In my state we
are FORCED to
have 10% Ethanol in
our gasoline. Ever since this FORCED
change I've been using high test premium gasoline instead of regular to
get the same performance from my engine in my nice new car.
I DO
notice the difference. Meanwhile, our taxes are being used to subsidize
this losing proposition.
I want back my
FREE
CHOICE of whether to use regular gasoline
or an Ethanol
blend that I know is more corrosive to my engine. Which, of course,
will cause me to buy a new car sooner, which is going to cause more damage
to the environment. Can you hear me banging my head against the wall?
No? It must be because of the loud knocking of my engine from putting
that crap into it!
Congress has now
MANDATED
(meaning they have taken away your FREEDOM
of choice) the use of Ethanol
in it's 2007 Energy Bill, which, of course, doesn't
create ANY new
energy at all, it only says that we should use less. Great solution for
a growing country.
To create Ethanol
they
must also use Natural Gas
in it's production thereby wasting even
MORE
energy. In fact scientists are now estimating that it uses 30% MORE energy
to create the Ethanol than the energy the Ethanol creates.
Did you Global
Warming fools get that? 100% of the
energy created by Ethanol
costs 130% in other forms of energy to create the Ethanol,
which is MORE
polluting that other types of energy.
This is only slightly
less stupid than buying oil from terrorists than drilling our own oil here
in the United States!
This article,
says there is a "slight swelling and blistering
on the carburetor and an increase in carbon deposits on pistons."
Wait a minute here! MORE
Carbon?!!!
I thought Ethanol
was supposed to have LESS
Carbon? If it's on the pistons it MUST
be going through the exhaust also!
The article goes
on to say that 20% blend of Ethanol in
gasoline causes "substantial problems" in engines. Some people say
that we can simply use newer engines that can handle the Ethanol.
Then what happens with all the old engines? What about vintage cars?
What about lower income people who can't afford new engines? Will they
be stuck with problem engines?
Maybe we can just
raise taxes on the rich and buy EVERYBODY
a new car!!!
Sounds like another
SOCIALIST
solution to me!
Ethanol
damage to engines confirmed
The article is
self explanatory:
Protect
Your Outboard Engine from
Damage
Due to Ethanol Blend Fuels:
Now we have to
PROTECT
our
engines from Ethanol?!
Just look at
all you have to now do to protect your engine from Ethanol
damage.
Ethanol
is costing about $1.75 cents a gallon. Not bad you say?
Let's think about
the REALITY of
the situation. Ethanol is
being subsidized by MILLIONS
of your YOUR
tax dollars, because they can't actually make any money with it, so the
cost is much more than you realize.
We are all paying
to LOOSE money
with this bad idea.
Gasoline is being
taxed at a rate of 75 cents to $1.50 per gallon or more in the United States.
Add that tax onto the actual prices of Ethanol
and it will actually cost MORE
than gasoline! Don't think that LIBERAL
politicians taxing will stop taxing ANY
form of energy in this country. Some states now even tax windmills
and solar panels!
Ethanol
cannot be sent through pipelines like oil can. This is a complicated issue
that can be read about HERE.
This is a HUGE
problem to overcome.
Since it can't
be sent by pipelines that means that Ethanol
must
be trucked to reach filling stations. That means MUCH
MORE fuel use just to get the fuel, which
uses more fuel, in fact at least 35% MORE
fuel, to create Ethanol
as the energy it produces for us. This is resulting in a net LOSS
of energy because of the use of Ethanol.
So, in reality,
Ethanol
is polluting and costing MORE
than oil. Meanwhile, Congress is MANDATING
that
we subsidize it with our tax dollars.
This is only slightly
less stupid than doing what we do now which is to buy oil from terrorist
supporting nations, WHEN WE HAVE OUR OWN OIL
THAT WE COULD DRILL RIGHT HERE IN THE UNITED
STATES!
The idiocy of
all this is mind boggling.
While we have
billions of gallons of untapped oil, and untold megawatts of electricity
available to us from Nuclear power, the sustainability of using biofuels
such as Ethanol.
The question of
sustainability arises when we consider that ethanol from corn can't possibly
be grown forever because growing corn depletes the soil even if sustainable
farming methods such as crop rotation are used. Some researchers argue
that ethanol production from corn could wear out the soil within 30 years.
Then we will be without energy AND
without food!
A recent story
by the AP stated
that Ethanol
is great solution because it is cheaper than gasoline.
A bit further
down in the story they revealed the truth of that statement by adding that
it was government subsidies (your tax dollars)
that made it that way.
Ethanol has
been shown to damage engines partially because it is water soluble, and
has the ability to pick up water, and that corrodes engines and pipelines.
Another new problem
is that the Environmental Protection Agency
is now saying the burning of Ethanol
is causing MORE
pollution, and that it causes Carbon Monoxide
and carcinogens "many
times greater" than they promised. Volatile
organic compounds (VOCs) are being released by the ethanol plants include
formaldehyde
and acetic acid,
both carcinogens.
The fumes are
produced when fermented corn mash is dried for sale as a supplement for
livestock feed. Devices known as thermal oxidizers can be attached to the
plants to burn off the dangerous gases. Yet Congress is forcing states
to produce more Ethanol!
EPA

Pollution Worse than Gasoline?
EPA

Study:
Ethanol Worse for Climate Than Gasoline
There
is also another serious problem with Ethanol.
| Remember when
Sting
and all the other environmentalists warned us about cutting down the rain
forests? They told us without the rain forests in South
America the planet would die very soon.
So what's happening
in South American countries
like Brazil today?
Farmers are cutting
down the forests in order to grow corn and sugar for Ethanol!
Farmland in Brazil
is being burned, in preparation for planting corn and beans. A new study
finds that ethanol production drives such land clearing, is contributing
greenhouse gases to the atmosphere.
So the forests
are disappearing at a FASTER
rate than they were before. Local water supplies are being used up and
food prices are climbing. |
|
| Noted ecologist
and primate scientist Jane Goodall says
biofuel crops are hurting the rain forests.
She says the race
to grow crops for vehicle fuels is damaging rain forests in Asia, Africa,
and South America, and adding to the emissions blamed for global warming. |
|
Critics say that
the demand for the fuels has led companies to cut down and burn forests
in order to grow the crops, adding to heat trapping emissions and leading
to erosion and stress on ecosystems. "Biofuel
isn't the answer to everything" says Goodall.
Jane
Goodall says biofuel crops hurt rain forests.
After the corn
and sugar is picked the South American farmers then burn the dried out
crops so that it will make cheaper fertilizer for growing the new crop
and cause them less work in removing the old growth. Sometimes they burn
the fields before they pick the sugar. It doesn't hurt the cane and it
increases the concentration of the sugar.
This creates MASSIVE
amounts
of air pollution. This pollution situation is so bad that the pollution
is now causing respiratory illnesses in OTHER
COUNTRIES than the ones growing the crops
for Ethanol!
Doesn't all this just make you want to bang your head against the wall?!!!
This
ia an actual picture of the burning of the sugar cane fields in Brazil.
Does this look
environmentally friendly to you?
Some of these
fires are so large that they can be seen by
LANDSAT images
from satellites.
Ethanol:
How the promise dwindled
Ethanol – hailed
by some as a "green" fuel that would reduce America's dependence on foreign
oil – is in a major slump here and nationwide.
Across California,
profit margins are vanishing, new plants are being canceled and some existing
facilities are struggling. The state's first major plant, opened in Tulare
County in 2005, has suspended operations.
And now Pacific
Ethanol, in a bombshell filing with the Securities
and Exchange Commission, has revealed big quarterly losses, major construction-cost
overruns, defaults on its bank loans and a liquidity squeeze.
Ethanol has been
a victim of its own success. Increasing demand brought a flood of new supply
to market while causing a spike in corn prices.
As ethanol prospers,
it demands more corn, which runs up the price of corn, which diminishes
(ethanol's) profitability.
Pacific Ethanol
stock, which traded above $40 during the industry's boom two years ago
is now selling for $4.33 on the Nasdaq market.
Pacific Ethanol
has lost an estimated $14.7 million in the fourth quarter, although it
has delayed the final release of those results because of its financial
problems. Multimillion-dollar bookkeeping and internal-controls errors
created a default on its bank loans. The company also was a victim of cost
overruns – which aren't unusual in this industry, experts say – totaling
$27 million.
The overruns have
contributed to Pacific Ethanol's
"extremely limited liquidity" and left the company dependent on a proposed
$40 million infusion from an affiliate of its building contractor, W.M.
Lyles Co. of Fresno, the SEC filing said.
Without new money,
Pacific
Ethanol "will be unable to achieve its business
objectives," it said.
"There was a point
in time when you had $3 corn and $4 ethanol; now you have $6 corn and $2
ethanol," said Rick Eastman,
who built the state's first big ethanol plant in Goshen and is now a consultant
to Pacific Ethanol.
"The whole plan is falling apart."
Some projects
are still going forward. Pacific Ethanol's
plant at the Port of Stockton, which received tax-exempt bond financing
from the state, is making progress, port officials said.
Sure, with YOUR
tax dollars funding Ethanol, it might eventually be "profitable". So YOU
as a taxpayer will pay before AND
after it's made. Then YOUR
government will tax YOU
again to buy it!
That's not a
profit, that's a LOSS
to YOU the taxpayer
and YOU the buyer.
That's called
getting it from the front and behind!
Even the EXTREME
FAR LEFT New
York Times columnist, the ferret-like
Paul Krugman,
a TRULY anti-American
weasel, agrees that Ethanol
and Biofuels
are a losing proposition, then you know it must be true!
It takes a LOT
for a LIberal to
admit when they are wrong!

Gone Wild - The Biofuel SCAM!

Lets
go over the facts again just so we all understand them:
-
Ethanol
uses as much energy to produce it as the energy it makes. There is NO
savings in money or in environmental damage in using Ethanol.
-
Ethanol
costs you MORE
money because the government has to subsidize it with YOUR
tax dollars.
-
Ethanol
causes worldwide food prices to rise, sometimes dramatically, affecting
the poorest people we have and possibly even starving them to death.
-
Ethanol
uses massive amounts of fresh water to produce and will cause many more
shortages
of fresh water all over the world.
-
Ethanol
costs more to ship because it cannot be sent through normal pipelines.
-
Ethanol
use is creating even more deadly toxins and carcinogens such as Carbon
Monoxide and formaldehyde.
-
Ethanol
production is causing the destruction of the rain forests to grow corn
and sugar cane.
-
Ethanol
is causing high amounts of respiratory illnesses by increasing air pollution
by the burning of used corn and sugar fields.
-
Ethanol
can cause damage in normal engines and it's being FORCED
upon us and we have NO CHOICE
if we want it in our gasoline or not as Congress has mandated it's use.
Ethanol
is
a REALLY bad
idea!
