Gordon Holt of Stereophile Magazine wrote about the Watkins WE-1 Series II in November 1986.

Believe it or not, Bill Watkins who is now close to 80 years old, is still not finished with his life's work.  He is currently designing a new bookshelf sized speaker that will properly use the Watkins Woofer the way it was meant to be.

I applaud his pursuit of sonic perfection.
